Families across Burntwood are to have their fingerprints taken – but police promise NOT to keep them on file. . . The offer is being made on 25 July when Chasetown Police Station throws open its doors to visitors.

Guests can have their fingerprints taken by an officer and then take them home on a special bookmark as a souvenir of their visit. Visitors will also be able see a drugs dog in action, test out a police car, try on police uniforms and have a go at using a police style radio during the free event.

Families will also be able to meet their local neighbourhood officers who cover the Burntwood, Chasetown, Chase Terrace and Boney Hay areas and join in free fun competitions.

We are hoping for a really good turn out of local people who want the chance to see behind the scenes at their neighbourhood police station,” said Burntwood Neighbourhood Policing Unit Commander, Inspector Kevin Mulligan.

It is also a great opportunity for people to talk over local issues and pick up help and advice on crime reduction and how to stay safe.

The open day is being held this Saturday (25 July) at Chasetown Police Station in High Street from 11am until 4pm.
