Burntwood Action Group ("BAG"), a group that campaigns against proposed housing development on green belt land, has published further views on Lichfield District Council's Local Development Framework.

BAG recently split from an alliance of similar groups that cover all of the Council's regions due to differences in opinion about how the alliance should be run. It still, however, co-operates with Burntwood & Hammerwich Action Group ("BHAG"), itself part of Hammerwich Environment Group.

South Staffordshire PCT are asking residents in the Burntwood area to take part in a public consultation on proposals to relocate eight GP Practices within the Burntwood area The PCT state that it is important that all residents have their say on their prefered choice of relocation(s) and the aim of the consulation is to ensure that the PCT captures the views of patients:

The options are:

1.  Two sites. One at Burntwood Leisure Centre, which would house 6 GP practices, and one at Greenwood house, which would house 2 GP Practices (Fulfen & Spires).

2.  Two sites. One at Robins Road (adjacent to Morrisions), which would house 6 Gp Practices, and one at Greenwood House, which would house 2 GP Practices (Fulfen & Spires).

3.  One site at Robins Road, which would house all 8 GP practices.

You can find the information and a preference form on line at http://www.southstaffordshirepct.nhs.uk/HaveYourSay/relocation/form.asp or you can pick up a copy in any of the present GP sites, and libraries.

The consultation started on the 9th August and will close on the 9th November 2009 when all the responses gathered will be put to the board where a final decision will be made. Depending on which option is chosen the PCT expect the new facilities to be open in late 2012 or early 2013.
