Johnny Wong's is a Thai and Malaysian Restaurant in the Muckley Corner shopping area of Burntwood. The restaurant has a medium sized dining area but also does take-away and deliveries. Usefully, it is also open on Tuesdays when most of the Chinese Restaurants in Burntwood are closed.

Chasetown FC 2008 - 2009 Fixtures

Burntwood's most successful football team, Chasetown FC - aka The Scholars, has announced its fixture listing for the 2008 / 2009 season.

Like all leagues at this level, many of the games may be subject to change nearer the time so be sure to check The Scholar's website regularly.

Chasetown had an incredibly successful FA cup run last year getting all the way through to Third Round before losing to the Championship's Cardiff City. On the way they beat League 1 team Port Vale.

Before the start of the season on 16 August 2008, Chasetown play friendly matches against both Port Vale, at home on 26 July, and Cardiff, again at home on Tue 5th August.

This year's first FA Cup match is a home fixture against Carlton Town on 30 August.

Unfortunately, club success has meant that a number of the clubs players have been poached by bigger teams.

Some sources date it back to the 11th Century and it may be listed in the Doomsday Book. Documentary records show it's between 1775 and 1799. In the early 1800 it had a set of stocks set up close by. It is believed the Dr Samuel Johnson drank there whilst writing his dictionary.

In 2007 it underwent a major refurbishment, re-opening in the October.
